About this speaker

Kari is a seasoned executive with nearly 40 years of experience in the life sciences industry. Kari started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and as an Audit Partner, she spent her 20+ year career working with large public and emerging private companies throughout the life sciences industry. She has deep experience guiding companies to execute a broad range of corporate deals including debt and equity transactions, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate spinoffs.

More recently, at JenaValve Technology, Kari worked with private equity and crossover investors to raise over $160 million and develop relationships with equity analysts. Kari also led a cross-functional project preparing JenaValve for a public equity offering. Kari was deeply involved in employee engagement matters, corporate culture and branding initiatives while leading the Human Resources function. Prior to JenaValve, Kari worked with Envista Corporation, a $3 billion spinoff from Danaher Corporation. Kari led efforts to prepare for the spinoff, including all SEC filings and securing the required financing. During her tenure with Envista, Kari also created a cross-functional shared services center in Prague. She was also heavily involved in mergers and acquisitions, leading a cross- functional team to divest a $400 million business.

Kari currently serves as a Board Member and Audit Committee Chair for Pretend City Children’s Museum (2007-Present). Kari was also a Board Member for Casa Teresa (2018 – 2020).

Kari is actively engaged in her community through her Board service and her involvement at UC Irvine. She is also actively engaged in the Forum for Corporate Directors, comprised of Board of Directors and Executives in Orange County California, and focused on delivering relevant, insightful programs and thought leadership for Orange County’s business community. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs.
